Two German scientists contend that an approximate 200-year solar cycle, along with the well-established 65-year cycle of the Atlantic/Pacific oscillation (AMO/PDO) agree well with actual global temperatures of recent centuries.
Both cycles are on a down slope. The solar cycle recently passed its maximum and will decrease for the next century. The AMO/PDO cycle will cool for about the next 20 years. The scientists conclude that “the global temperature will drop until 2100 to a value corresponding to the “little ice age” of 1870.”
